Title sung to the tune of “My Generation” by the Who. (It’s Friday….)
Ok two quick points on Innovation for this week. First: A point in Innovation and TRIZ and Second: The TOP 50 business thinkers of the year.
First: I went to the PMI Southwest Ohio chapter dinner on Wednesday featuring Mike Fedotowsky who gave an engaging talk about Innovation… interestingly; he linked innovation back to the Genrich Altschuller and his “TRIZ” or the “theory of solving inventor’s problems” concept. Mike gave five concrete steps to think about when you are approaching innovation based on Altschullers “40 Principles”. I need to summarize it for myself and explain it five or six more times before I write about it here. But my point is linking back to my earlier VUCA post, it’s really rewarding to get out and see something new.
Second point: Did you know there is a list of the top 50 most influential business thinkers? If you are just staring out building your list of environmental scanning sources, here is a quick link to flood you with mind candy. Of this list, I follow Vijay Govindarajan (which is how I found out about this list through his blog post back in May), but there is a TON of great thinkers here. Porter: 4, Covey: 15, Charan: 22, and Vijay: 23!!
